S�+T�TEREAS,. The Commiasioner of Public Works has reported, in aecorda.nce with
S'ection 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during
the period from October 1 to October 15; 1961 which rendered nscessary t
the employment of certain employees of the Department of Public Works
formore th.an eigh.t hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the
following work:

And WF3EREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances: �
Necessity ,of answering all emergency repair calls, keeping
city streets free from debria, keeping fires at -Asphalt Plant
continuously, taking complaints at City Yards, completing plans &
specifications for grading & paving �obs, nee d for grade profiles and
house numbers, completing sidewalk assessments, keeping city equip�ent
in good running condition, and inspecting work done by contractors
on street & sidewalk work.
THEREFORE BE IT RES�LVED That the proper city officers are hereby
authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in
accordance with the provisions of the Councilts salary ordinance,
Qrdinance No. 6L�L�.6. .
