Council City of St. Paul � Dear Council Memberss � A statement of expense has been fil�d with the City Clerk on this date for the purpose of creating a lien on the property r known as 538 Van Buren Avenue, described as Lot 21, Smith's Subdivision of Block 3 of Stinson`ts Division of the Northwest 1/4 .of Section 36, Town 29, Range' 23. The property was listed in the following names : ' Heirs of Estate of Fred Blanck, c/o Fred Ur,ban, 538 Van Buren St. , St. Paul 3; Minnesota Mr. H. Reiter, 609 Simpson St. , St. Paul 4, Minnesota Mr. Ralph Blanck, 1534 N. Victoria St. , St. Pau1, .Minnesota In this matter, the following resolutions were adopted by the City Council : � C.F. 201473, adopted by the Cpuncil April 4, 1961 �(published April 8, 1961) , set a public hearing at 10 A.M. April 26, 1961. C.F. 201845, adopted by the Council April 27, 1961 (published April 29, 1961) , ordered the wrecking by and at the separate expense' of -the owner, occupant, and or other person in control thereof. C.F. 202161, adopted by the Council May 17, 1961 (published May 20, 1961) , directed .the Commissioner of Parks And Recreation And Public Buildings to enter the premises and wreck and remove the one and one half story frame dwelling thereon, and do any and all things therein necessary for the protection of life, limb, and adjoining property. C.F . 202655, adopted by the Council June 20, 1961 (published June 24, 1961) , approved the specifications prepared by this of- fice for ,the wrecking of this building and authorized the Purchas- ing Agent� to advertise for bids. � C.F. 202925, adopted by the Council July 7, 1961 (published July 8, 1961) , approved the award of the contract for wrecking to Al1 State Improving Co. forv the sum of $340.00 in accordance with specifications and Informal Bid No. 2809. � . �. . • + • y � � • •1 #2 . C.F. No. 203596, adopted by the Council August 22, 1961 (pub- . lished August 26, 1961) , provided that the wrecki�ng expense of $340.00 and expense of the Department of Parks And Recrea- tion And Public Buildings in connection with the condemnation � in the amount of $33.13, making a total of $373.13 be paid out of Wrecking Condemned Buildings, 31 G 22, and, in the event said sum proves collectible from the owner, same is to be credited to 31 G 22. The building has now been satisfactorily wrecked and a regis- tered b�ill mailed to the owners. We are requesting that you hold a public hearing with ten dayst notice to consider any complaints about the expenses incurred and to confirm the amount. The Council resolution confirming the expense should end �with a directive to the City 'Clerk to file a statement of expense for the purpose of secur- ing a lien'' on the property.
