THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That the Zoning Code, Chapters 60 to 61+, inclusive,
of the Saint Paul Legislative Code, pertaining to Use Districts, Height
Districts, and Rezoning of certain properties in the City of Saint Paul,
as amend>dd, be and the same is hereby further amended so as to rezone
the following described property from "A" Residence District to Commercial
District, to wait:
The North one -half of the ,Test one -half of Lot 2,
and the North one -half of Lot 3, except bridge
approach, Block 11, Homecroft Addition, being
located at the southeast corner of Graham Avenue
:and West Seventh Boulevard.
Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to bean emergency
ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of the public peace,
health, z nd safety.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
upon its passage, •approval, and publication.

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That the Zoning; Code, Chapters 60 to 64, inclusive,
of the Saint Paul Legislative Code, pertaining to Use Districts, Height
Districts, and Rezoning of certain properties in the City of Saint Paul,
as amenddd, be and the Fame is hereby further amended so as to rezone
the follo -w-Ing described property from "All residence District to Commcrcial
District, to -wit:

Dear Madam:
This is in the matter of the petition of Carl G. Anderson to rezone from ")V"
residence to light industry district property located at the southeast corner
of Grabaa Avenue and West,Seventh Boulevard. This property is described as
the north one -half of the west one -half of Lot 2, and the north one -baif of
Lot 3, except bridge approach, Block 11, Hopecroft Addition.
On July 6 ,1961, the Commissioner of Finance reported the petition sufficient
with the owners of 7 of a possible 10 (70%) tracts of land within the pre-
scribed 100 foot radius having signed the petition. The site is presently
vacant and if rezoned, the petitioner proposes to construct�a motel on the•
site. The number of units proposed is not known at this time. The property
has a frontage of 155 feet on West Seventh Boulevard, and 78 feet on Graham
Avenue resulting in an area of 15,162 square feet. Directly east and adjoin-
ing is a vacant lot, farther east is a single- family,residence which fronts
on Graham Avenue; north and across Graham Avenue is a single - family residence
fronting on said street, farther north are commercial uses fronting on West
Seventh Street; west and adjoining is highway rigbt -of -way; south and adjoin-
ing is the Yankee Kitchen restaurant which-fronts on"West Seventh Boulevard;
also three single - family residences which front on Norfolk Avenue.
The Board of Zoning considered this matter at the regular meeting on August 17,
1961. It is the opinion of the Board that this property should not',be re-
classified to a less restrictive district than a commercial district. Because
of the difficulty in securing signatures for a new petition, and because the
light industry district is not required for the proposed use, the Board of
Zoning recommends the rezoning of the above described property to a commercial
district. Mr. Dudley who appeared in behalf of the petitioner signified that
this was satisfactory.
