in accordance with Section 53 0� the City Charter, the existence o�
, an emergency during the period Yrom August 16th to August 31st 1961
inclusive, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees
o� the Water Department for more than eight hours per day or fbrty hours
per week in doing the follow�ng work:
.F 1) Repairing equipment, various stations.
' 2 Working extra shifts, various stations.
` 3� �dditional p �umping, vario�s stations.
�+ Repairing pav�ment where service connections hacl. been installed.
5 Driving country crew to and �rom �rork.

and circ�stances:

1 Necessary to do work during low consumption hours. •
2 Absence of employees on regular shifts.
3 On account of great dema.nd for water.
4) In order t.o have pavement in good repair �or weekend trafPic.
5) On account of scattered work locations.
� THEREF'ORE, BE IT RESOLVED; that the proper city officers axe ,
hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such Work in
accordance with the provisions oP the Council's Salary Ordiriance,
Ordinance No. �446..
