7 HEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Safety has reported, in accordance with Section 53
of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from December 1, 1961
to December 31, 1961, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees in the
Department of Public Safety for more than eight hours per day, or forty hours per week,
in doing the following work=
maintenance work in the Bureau of Building maintenance and
WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances=
Heating the Public Health Building on Sundays, plowing and shoveling snovr at
Public Health Center and Public Safety Building after two recent snowfalls.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED; That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the
employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Councilts
,Salary Ordinance No. 6446,
