WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Works has reported, in accordance with
Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an- emergency duing

the period from December 13 to December 19, 1961 which rendered necessary
the employment of certain employees of the Department of Public Corks
for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing
the following work:
Rdmoving snow from city streets and sanding icy streets.
And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts an(
circumstances:
Necessity of answering all emergency repair calls, keeping city
streets free from snow and ice.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are - hereby
authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in
accordance with the provisions of the Councilts salary ordinance,
Ordinance No_. 6446. �
