08-254Council File # dg'�J `� Green Sheet # 3050551 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 l5 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 OF Presented by RESOLUTION NT PAUL, MINNESOTA �-3 WHEREAS, the City of Sunt Paul is eligible to apply for funding through the Local Trail Connecrions and the Federal Recreational Trail Pro� ams, both sponsored by the State of Minnesota Deparhnent of Natural Resowces; and WHEREAS, Pazks and Recrearion wishes to apply to these programs for grant funding for the following eligible projects, to wit: Cherokee Reeional Pazk Reeional Trail — which will conshuct a paved hzil along the top of the bluff from the City boundary (Annapolis Street) to Geoige Sh�eet and Cherokee Avenue. Lilvdale Re2ional Park Lakeshore Trail — which will conshuct new paved trail connecting the proposed picnic area to shore improvements along Pickerel Lake. Prosperity Heiehts Park — which will reclaim and repave the existing paved trails through the park from Maryland Avenue to Ivy Avenue, and the woodchip trail through the woodland shetches. AND WHEREAS, these projects require a 50% match, and cannot be used for internal costs; and WHEREAS, Saint Paul Parks and Recieation has the matching funds available vnthin its adopted Capital Improvement Budget and undezstands the grant requiiements; now THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Saint Paul authorizes the proper City officials to submit the following grant applications, to wit Cherokee Re�onal Park Reaional Trail $150,000; and Lilydale Re ional Pazk Lakeshore Trail $100,000; and Prosneriri Hei�hts Pazk $35,000; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that upon any said pxoj ect appxoval by the State of Minnesota, Depadment of Natural ResoLUCes, a specific resolution including pxoject budget will be submitted foi City Council review and approval; and be it FINALLY RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul supports the projects as previously listed.
