� Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergericy during
; the period from November 1 to November 15, 1961 which rendared necessary
� the employment of certain employees of the Department of Pu�blic Works
� for more than eight hours per day or forty hourg per week i�n doin� the

And WI�REAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following fac s and

r city streets free from debris, keeping fires at Asphalt Plan�t
� continuously, taking complaints at City Yards, completing pl�ans &
3 specifications for grading & paving �obs, need for grade pro�files and
� house numbers, completing sidewald assessments, keeping city� equipment
in �ood running condition, and inspecting work done by contractors
� on street & sidewalk work.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers. are hereby
tauthorized to pay the employees who performed such work in
� accordance with the provisions of the Council� s salary ordinance,
� Ordinance No. 61�.6. -
