accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergenc� during the
period from October lst through November 1�, 1961 which rendered necessary the employment
of certain employees of the Department of T,ibraries, Auditorium, �useums and Stadia,

Bureau of �uclitorium� f or more than eig�t hours per day or f orty hour s per week in doing
the follot�ing work=
Operate ventilating systems, PB% S�ri.tchboard, and supervise during various
events held in the building.

No other trained help available to work duririg �Tomen�s Ins$�.i.te programs, opera,
hockey games, conven�ions, concerts and other events held in the building, this
time includes Saturda,ys, �a.ndays and Holiday.
THER�ORE BE a RESOLVID, tha.t the proper City Officers axe hereby author�ed to pay
�the employees who performed such �rork in accordance with the provi.sions of the Council�s
__ �Salary Ordinance No. 641�6.
