� WI�REAS, the Co�issioner of Public Utilities ha,s reported,
� in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of
+ an emergency during the period. from October 16th to October 31st 1961
E inclusive, which ,rendered necessary the employment of certain employees
F of the �later Depaxtment for more than eight hours per day or forty
�; hours per week in doing the �ollowing work:

� ' (1 Repairing equipmen.t, various stations.
� (2 Working extra shifts,vaxious stations.
i (3 Repairing water mains aud i.nspecting ma.iris laid by Contractors:
� �+ Driving country crew to arid �rom work.
s 5 Treating la.kes with copper sulpha.te.
� AND W�REAS, this emergency arose by reason o� the following

.# 1 Idecessary to do work during low consumption hours.
�, 2� Absence of employees on regulax shifts.
� 3 In order to give� water aupply to cons�$rs as soon as possible. _
