! WHEREAS, the Co�.i.ssioner o� Puiblic Utilities has reported,
i in accordance with Section 53 0� the City Charter, the existence of
� a.n emergency dur3.ng the period from October 16th to October �lst 1961
� inclusive, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees
� of the Water Depa.rtment flor more than eight hours per day or fbrty
� hours per week in doing the fo]lowing work:

�` (1) Ha.ndling meter readi.ng cards received in the mail on Saturdays,

� (2) InspeGting work done by Contractors.

' � AND WHEREAS� this emergency arose by reason o� the following
j facts and circumstances:

;� (l� In order to have readings ready for billers on Mondaysa

3 (2) Necessary to do inspecting after the day's work by Contra�ctors. ,
= THEREFORE� BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are
F hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work:`in
� accordance with the provisions of the Council's Salary Orclinance,
� Ordinance No. 64�+6.
