1 WHEREAS, the Friends of the Mississippi River (FMR), a charitable 501(c)3 organization, l�as funds available
2 through the Mirmesota Department of Natural Resources, Metro Conservation Corridors program (awarded by the
3 L.egislative and Cirizens Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMK) with funding from the Minnesota

WIIEREAS, these funds exist to implement natural resource management projects at idenrified conservation
comdors in the Twin Ci6es Metropolitan Area, and;
WHEI2EAS, receipt of assistance would allow Saint Paul Parks and Recreation to reestablish three acres of native
prairie at Crosby Farm, complete one acre of erosion stabilization at Watergate Marina, and perform up to two and a
half acres of prescribed buming along the Mississippi River Bluffs, and;
WHEREAS, it is the Division of Parks and Recrearion's intenrion to seek a budget amendment in 2008 in order to
accept these funds on a reimbursement basis, and;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to provide spending authority
for $10,000, and to enter into the necessary agreements related to the Metro Conservation Corridors funding
available through the Friends of the Mississippi River.
