�iWHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Works has reported, in accordance
� with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an
P emergency during the period from July 16 to July 31, 1961, which
� rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the
; Department of Public Works for more than ei�ht hours per day or�
�� forty hours per week in doing the following work:

,!And WHEREAS, This emer�ency arose by reason of the following facts
and circumstances :

�� Necessity of answerin� all emergency repair calls, keepin�
� city streeta free from debris, keeping fires at Asphalt Plant
� continuously, taking complaints at City Yards, completing
� plans 8c specifications for grading & paving �obs, need for
` grad� profiles and house numbers, completing aidewalk assessments,
�E keeping city equipment in good running condition, and inspecting
{ work done by contractors on street & aidewalk work.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby
authorized to pay the employees who performed such worl� in
�4 accordance with the provisions of the council's salary�o�dinance,
; Ordinance No. 6�+�+6.
