WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from June 1st to June 15th inclusive, which rendered necessary the.employment of certain employees of the Water Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: 1 Repairing equipment, various stations: 2 Working extra shifts, various stations; (3 Finishing installation of new water mains and service connections: 4 Driving country crew to and from work. AND WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: 1 Necessary to do work during low consumption hours: 2 Absence of regular employees. 3 In order to put water mains and service connections in service . as soon as possible. (4) On account of scattered work locations. THEREFORE,, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No: 6446: Council File No. 202620 — By Milton; Rosen, by request - ResOlved, That the proper city offs- 1 cers are hereby authorized to pay cer- 1 Lain employes in thg Department of Water for extra employment as de- scribed in the resolution.
