WHERF..AS, the Department of Public Works has ag�'eed to par[icipate in the cost of zedevelopment of property at Prosperity
and Rose by funding the realignment of Rose at Clazence , and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works recotnmends that the available MSA budget of $400,000 in the Phalen Boulevard
Phase I ptoject be transfened to [he Rose and Clazence realignment project, and
WFIEREAS, realigning Rose at Cluence is needed to accommodate the additional traffic generated by Cub Foods, so
TI-IEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and advice of
the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $400,000 is available for appropriation in the Capital
Tmprovement Budgets, as heretofore adopted and amended by this Council, be hereby further amended in the Improvement
Budgets, in the following particulazs:

Description:
The Department of Pubiic Works proposes to realign Rose Street at Clazence Street in
order to better accommodate increased traffic generated by the development of Cub
Foods near this location.
Explanation & Justif'ication:
The Department of Public Works has agreed to participate in the redevelopment of the
property neaz Prosperity and Rose. The role of Public Works will be to realign the Rose
and Clarence intersection in order to accoznmodate the increased traffic volumes
generated by a new Cub Foods Store. The roadway realignment will make the traffic
flow safer and more efficiently in and azound this area. This improvement will be the
City's contribution to this much needed redevelopment effort. Being as this
redevelopment effort is neaz the Phalen Boulevard Corridor, it makes sense to use
available MSA financing from the Phalen Boulevard Project to fund this intersection
improvement.
Funding:
$400,000 MSA from Phalen Boulevard Project - See transfer amounts on attached
resolution.
