WHEREAS, The Com�ni.ssioner of Libraxies, auditorium� Museums and Stadia has reported in
accordance with Section 53 of the City �harter� the existen,ce of an eanergency during the
period from September 3 through September 30� 1961 which r endered necessary the employment
of certain emp�.oyees of the Department of Libraries, �uditorium, Museums and Stadia,
Bureau of �uditorium, for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing
the folloWing works�
Operate ventilating systems, PB% swi.tchboard, and supervise during auto shows,
road show, meetings a.nd other events held in the building.
� ar�d �F�,AS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circuuistances:
Pto other trained help available to work during above attractions held in
the bui.lding� this time includes Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLUED, that the proper City Officers are hexeby authorized to pay
the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the �ouncil�s
