She asked what ihe cunent situation was with this property. Ms. Seeley stated that she re-inspected the properiy on January 8 and the upstairs had been cieaned out and repaired. She issued orders to ciean out the two bedrooms on the first floor as they were full and the bathroom on the first floor needed to have the plumbing repaired and the ceiling had to be replaced as the plaster was loase. She gave a compliance date of January 24 and then the owners appealed that order. Paul and Adelheid Stefanyshyn, property owners, appeared. Mr. Stefanyshyn stated that the room off of the kitchen had been compietely cieaned out and the other room was mostiy cieared out. He had painted the downstairs and refinished the hardwood floors on the first floor. He had gatten an estimate of $23,000 to repair the bathroom, replace the plumbing and he was requesting a couple of months of ime to complete the repairs. Ms. Moermond asked Ms. Stefanyshyn where she was living. Mr. Stefanyshyn responded that his mother was living with him as she was on oxygen and could not handie the smells of fresh paint and varnish in khe house. Ms. Moermond stated that she would be willing to ant additional time to complete the repairs provided that Ms. Stefanyshyn not live at the property until the plumbing was repaired. Ms. Stefanyshyn responded that she could five upstairs. Ms. Seeley stated that there was a full bathroom upstairs and her main concern was that the ceiling in the bathroom on the first floor could collapse and cause injury. She had recommended to the property owners that the bathroom be repaired before any other work on the first floor had been done. Ms. Moermond stated that the first floor bathroom could not be used until it was repaired. She recommended denying the appeal and granting an extension to March 14, 2008 to complete the repairs.
