� WHEREAS, the Co�nissioner o�' Public Utilities has reported, '
in accordance with Section 53 0�' the City Council, the existence o� f
an emergency during the period from September 16th to September 30th .
1961 inclusive, which rendered necessary the employment o�' certain
employees of the Water Department for more than eight �ours per day '
or forty hours per week in doing the �ollowing work: "
�1 Reps�iring equipment, vaxious stations�
2 Working e�ctra shifts, vaxious stations.
(3 Repairing and finishing insta3�:ation of water mains and. ,
• service connections.
��+ Driving coun�t�ry crew to and from work.
5� Treati.ng lakes with copper sulphate. •
AND Wf�REAS, this emergency axose by reason o� the flollowing �

1 Necessary to do work during low cons�ption hours.
, 2 Absence of employees on regular shi.Yts. '

3 In order to give wa.ter suppl,y to constuners as soon as possible.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city of�icers� axe '
hereby �authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in - i
, accorc�auce with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance,
Ordinance Ho. 641+6. •
