SCHROEDER, City Architect 445 City Hall, Zone 2 CApital 4-4612 Ext. 361 ( September 15, 1961 Hon. Council City of Saint Paul Dear Council Members : ' Reference is made to the applications of Charles H. Arend, 1068 Summit Avenue and Arthur A. Haessig, 1064 Summit Avenue, who desire permission from the Council to erect an eight foot basket weave redwood fence across the rear of their lots . Our inspector has made an inspection and reports the fence would help separate residential lots from commer- cial lots and alleviate the noise of manufacturing car- ried on across the alley. IVeighbors have no objections. It is the recommendation of the Building Department that we be authorized to issue these permits . Yours truly, , I Alf d H. Mr. George Stone, city inspector, has been out and i.n.spected the situa- tion of which we speak and is aware of the conditions from which we are seeking relief. - Your consideration of our request and a prompt reply will be greatly appreciated so that we may, in part, maintain the beauty of our homes , and the safety of our children. As previously stated, Mr. George Stone of the City Architect's office has inspected the entire situation this past week, and a conference with him ' ' will assist you i.n making the necessary decision and a11ow us a prompt answer to our request.
