COUNCIL RESOLUTION - GENERAL FORM
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities bas reported,in
accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an
emergency during the period from April lst to April 15th 1961
inclusive, which.rendered necessary the employment of certain employees
of the Water Department for more than eight hours per day or forty
hours per week in doing the following work:
Handling meter reading cards received in the mail on Saturdays.
A10 WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following
facts and circumstances:
In order to have readings ready for biller9con Mondays
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are
hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in
accordance with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance,
Ordinance No. 641+6.

AMEN014ENT TO FINAL ORDER FOR - "-,W Kft,,
Resolved, that for the purpose of effectuating the true intent and purpose of
the Council and to provide therefor and facilitate the acquisition under the power of
eminent domain by the City of Saint Paul, of necessary lands and easements in lands
for construction of flood walls, dikes, pumping station sites, structures and slopes
for flood control purposes pursuant to the prior resolution of the' Council in the na-
ture of a Final Order for Map 2, designated as Council File No. 200881, approved Feb-
ruary 28, 1961; that said prior resolution be amended in the following particular to-
wi t:
That the first description as contained in said final order in the section defin-
ing the precise nature, extent and kind of improvement to be made by the said City and
also in the section defining the land, lands or easements therein and ordering the
same to be taken, appropriated, and condemned for the purpose of making said improve-
ment, be amended in the following particular to -wits that the resolution description
contained therein, reading as follows:
"Condemning and taking the following lands for the construction of flood
walls, dikes, pumping station sites, other structures and slopes for flood
control purposes on the following described property:
All of Block 4, Second Addition to Brooklynd, St. Paul, Minnesota."

flood walls, dikes, pumping station sites and'other structures for flood

Temporary easements to remain in effect for either'a three year
duration or upon the compi'etion .of construction,which aver comes
first. The District Engineer of the U. S. Corps of Engineers

Resolved further, that, except as so amended.in accordance herewith, said prior
