and hereby awards contract for furnishing all necessary labor, tools, and equipment to
excavate a minimum of 25,000 tons and a maximum of approx. 300,000 tons of Lime Sludge
Material from Water Department Sludge Beds located just easterly of the Water Department
90" conduit right- of-way leading to the Water Department Filter and Water Softening
Plant and between County Road A2 (Roselawn Avenue) on the south and County Road B to the
north, all in Maplewood; load, haul and dispose of it elsewhere at his own discretion or
choosing, or use it to his own advantage as he may choose, to ASRBAICS CONSTRUCTION
COMPANY in accordance With City specifications therefor hereto attached and the Formal
Bid #8310 of said Ashbach Construction Company, Bidder to pay City $0.21 per ton dry
Weight, minimum of 25 M tons dry weight to be removed during period of one year from
and after date of City Comptroller's countersignature on contract (With provision that
by mutual agreement contract may be extended for a period of not less than one year or
more than five years at not less than $0021 per ton dry weight and not less than 25 M
tons dry weight shall be removed each year during the period of the contract), making
minimum amount Contractor to pay City of Saint Paul during each year that contract
is effective $5,250.00, such bid being the only bid and said Ashbach Construction Company
being a reasonable and reliable bidder and the Corporation Counsel be and hereby is
directed to draw up the proper form of contract therefor, and the proper Cityofficials
hereby are authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the City of Saint Paul.
