WHEREAS, the Commissioner'of Public Utilities has reported,
in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter,
the existence of, an` emergency during the period
from November46., 1961 to November 30, 1961 in-
clusive which rendered necessary the employment
of certain employees of the Department of Public
Utilities for more than eight hours per day or
forty hours pert eek in doing the following work:
Making emergency repairs to street lighting
circuits,

this emergency arose by reason of the following
facts and circumstances:
Overtime night work required to restore street
lighting service immediately for public safety,
therefore, be it
that the properlcity officers are hereby authorized
to pay the employees who performed such work in
accordance with!the provisions of the Council's
Salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
