ZONING,- CITY OF SAINT PAUL
1313 CITY HALL AND COURT HOUSI SAINT PAUL a, MINNISOTA
April 26, 1961
Mrs. Agnes H. O'Connell
City Clerk
Building
Dear Madam:
This is in the.matter of Kieffer Bros. Investment and Con-
struction Company's application for a permit to remodel and
operate an open air parking lot and garage for approximately
86 cars on property located at the northwest corner of Sixth
and Jackson Streets. The property is described as Lot 6,-
Block'3, Auditor's Sub. No. 56. The zoning is light industry.
The site is presently developed with a filling station and
off-:street parking facility.- The applicant proposes to re-
move the filling station sokthat the entire site will be used
for off - street parking purposes. This will increase the capa-
city of the parking available and also provide a new means
of access to the underground parking presently available.
The site has a frontage along E. Sixth Street of 110.33 feet
and a frontage along Jackson'Street of 106.6 feet, resulting
in an area of approximately 11,761 square feet. The plans
meet the existing standards for this type of facility. The
traffic engineer has reviewed the proposal and recommends
approval subject to the revamping or closing of certain drive-
ways if found to be necessary due to traffic conditions. The
surrounding uses are entirely commercial.
The Board of Zoning considered this matter at their meeting
on March 16, 1961 and recommend approval of the permit to
remodel the existing parking lot on the above described pro-
perty in accordance with plans approved March 16, 1961 subject
to the recommendation of the Traffic Engineer and _subject to
a bumper height fence being erected along the Sixth Street
sidewalks.
