Council City of Saint Paul Dear Council Members: The Car Mileage Committee held a meeting on Monday morning, April 24, 1961 and disposed of the following matters in ac- cordance with Ordinance No. 11532. A request was received from John M. Gran, Assistant Superin- tendent of Saint Paul Public Schools, for the placement of Ron- ald E. Finnegan, coordinator, and Alfred E. Johnson, coordi- nator, on Type C Mileage; $15.00 maximum per month, effective April 1, 1961. The Committee recommends that this request be granted. Mr. Gran requested the removal of the following persons from Type C mileage plan, effective March 1, 1961, as they are to receive mileage under Plan A: Wm. L. Becker, L. W. Cable, Rudy Grunloh, Herbert Kellor, Priscilla Rugg, and Arne Setala. The committee recommends this request be given favorable action. A third request from Mr. Gran advised that since first recom- mendation was made for setting the flat rate of mileage for the school repair maintenance mechanics, based on former driving reports, some conditions have changed and the following changes are recommended: Name Now Receiving Change To Stone, Ronald $10.00 $30.00 Gilson, Newton $20.00 $30.00 Burgeson, Harry $20.00 $30.00 Hemmeter, Kenneth $15.00 $30.00 Hiveley, Donald $15.00 $30.00 Hedin, Donald $25.00 $30.00 Hinna, Arthur $25.00 $30.00 Juelich, Richard $25.00 $30.00 Smolik, Edward $25.00 $30.00 Bossard, Robert $35.00 $30.00 #2 A request was addressed to the Committee by John J. Eichin- ger, countersigned by Commissioner Rosen of Public Works, for the removal of George Hafiz, Chief Timekeeper, from Plan C, effective April 1, 1961, as he is to be transferred to A Mile- age Plan. The Committee is favorable to this transfer and recommends it to the Council. Mr. Eichinger further requested that Mr. Larron Mundahl of Public Works be placed on B Mileage with a maximum of $75.00 effective April 1, 1961, as Mr. Mundahl has just been placed on construction inspection and will be driving in the field between jobs as well as to the office and returning to job sites. This matter is recommended for your favorable action. A letter dated April 19 from Mr. John J. Eichinger, counter- signed by Commissioner Rosen of Public Works, requests the removal of Gerald Ernster, Senior Engineering Aide, from his present B Plan mileage with $75.00 maximum, and Mr. Roger E. Hjerpe, surveyor, from C Plan, maximum $75.00, effective April 30, 1961, as these employees are to be placed on "A" mileage if they have to drive. The Committee is recommending that these requests be granted. Mr. Eichinger also requests that John R. Wolfgram, surveyor, in the Public Works Department, be placed on B Plan, $75.00 maximum, effective May 1, 1961, as Mr. Wolfgram has been assigned recently to a surveying crew. This is recommended to the Council for passage. AHS..A Yours truly, Alfred H., Schroeder, Ch.. Car Mileage Committee I
