Dear Madam:
This is in the matter of the application of the First Security State
Bank of Saint Paul for a permit to remodel an existing drive -ia bank-
ing facility on property located at the northeast corner of University
and Raymond Avenues. The property is described as Lot 48 and the
westerly-5 feet of Lot 49, Hewitt's Outlots, First Division. The zoning
is Light and Heavy Industry and has been since the enactment of the
Zoning Ordinance in 1922.
The applicant proposes to relocate the existing drive -in facility, to
add a second teller window and to construct another driveway. This
tract is IV shaped, having a frontage of 120 feet along Raymond Avenue,
77 feet along University Avenue and 22 feet along Charles Avenue, result-
ing in an area of approximately 19,300 square feet. The uses in the area
are commercial and industrial in character.
Field investigation discloses no objection to the proposed remodeling
as it will substantially increase the number of reservoir spaces for
people awaiting drive -in banking services. The Traffic Engineer has
approved the plan which meets the standards for this type of facility.
In accordance with the above factors, the Board of Zoning recommends
the granting of the permit to remodel the existing drive -in banking
facility on the above described property in accordance-with plans
approved February 16, 1961.
Sincerely,
w, , D
