Whereas, The Commissioner of Parks

has recommended the leasing of the

CO CIL ESOLUTION— St. Paul, namely, the .rental of row-
boats and canoes, and the operation of
a concession stand, subject to the fol-
lowing coriditiong: Canoe docks, con-
cession stand and canoe storage docks
to be constructed by lessee. Rent to be
$100.00 for -the 1961 season, and if the
returns for said 1961 season are satis-

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings has
recommended the leasing of the following privileges at Phalen Park to Eugene P.
Christensen, 499 Jackson St., St. Paul, namely, the rental of rowboats and canoes,
and the operation of a concession stand, subject to the following conditions: Canoe docks ,
concession stand and canoe storage docks to be constructed by lessee.Rent to be $100. 00
for the 1961 season, and if the returns for said 1961 season are satisfactory to the extent
that the lessee wishes to install additional facilities for the 1962 season the rental is to
be increased to $150. 00; and if business warrants installation of additional facilities in
1963 rental is to be increased ,to $200. 00 per season for the seasons of 1963, 1964 and
1965. However, if business does not warrant, rent is to remain $100. 00 per season.
Rental fee for each season to be paid on or before July 15 each year. The said Eugene
P. Christensen to provide a public liability policy for injury to persons in an amount
not less than $5, 000 for one accident, subject to the following conditions: That no
employee of the said Eugene P. Christensen shall be required or permitted to work
longer than forty -eight hours in any one week, except that additional hours may be
worked if overtime is paid therefor at the hourly rate for such employment, and the
wages to be paid any such employees shall be the same as paid to regular City em-
ployees doing the same or similar work; and if there is no wage scale set for that type
of work by the City then the wage shall be not less than the rate provided for a refectory
sales clerk employed by the City of Saint Paul; therefore,. be it
RESOLVED,' That the CounciL.concurs_in_.the- recommendations of the Commissioner
of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings, and the Corporation Counsel is hereby
authorized and directed to draw the proper lease therefor, and the proper City
officers are hereby authorized and directed to execute the same on behalf of the City
of Saint Paul.
