ft. from White Bear Ave. to Winthrop St. by taking and condemning a strip of land 7 ft.
in width lying between a line 33 ft. and a line 40 ft. parallel to and northerly of the
center line of Upper Afton Road as platted in the NW 1/4 of Sec. 2, T -28, R122 between
White Bear Ave. and Ruth St., also a strip of land 7 ft. in width lying between a line
33 ft. and a line 40 ft. parallel to and southerly of the center line of Upper Afton
Road as platted in the NW 1/4 of Sec. 2, T -28, R -22 between Metcalf Lane and the west
line of Noha's 2nd Addition and in the South 1/2 of Sec. 2, T -28, R -22, between Ruth St.
and Winthrop St.
under Preliminary Order 200840 approved February 15, 1961
The Council of the City of St. Paul having received the report of the Commissioner of Finance
upon the above improvement, and having considered said report, hereby resolves:
1. That the said report and the same is hereby approved and adopted, and the said improvement
is hereby ordered to be proceeded with.
2. That the nature of the improvement which the Council recommends is to open, widen and extend
Upper Afton Road to a width of 80 ft. from White Bear Ave. to Winthrop St. by taking and
condemning a strip of land 7 ft. in width lying between a line 33 ft. and a line 40ft.
parallel to and northerly of the center line of Upper Afton Road as platted in the NW 1/4
of Sec. 2, T =28, R -22 between White Bear Ave. and Ruth St., also a strip of land 7 ft.
in width lying between a line 33 ft. and a line 40 ft. parallel to and southerly of the -
center line of Upper Afton Road as platted in the NW 1/4 of Sec. 2, T -28, R -22 between
Metcalf Iane and the west line of Noha's 2nd Addition and im,the South 1/2 of Sec. 2,
T -28, R -22, between Ruth St. and Winthrop St.
with no alternatives, and that the estimated cost thereof is $ 50.00
Resolved Further, That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 27th day of
June, 1961 , at the hour of 10 o'clock A. M., in the Council Chamber of the Court
House and City Hall Building in the City of St. Paul. That the Commissioner of Finance give notice of
said meeting to the persons and in the manner provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of
hearing, the nature of the improvement and the total cost thereof as estimated.
