The Car Mileage Committee met in the office of Chairman Schroeder
on Thursday morning, May 18, 1961 at nine otclock.
A'request dated May 17, 1961, from the Department of Public Works,
signed by John J. Eichinger and countersigned by Commissioner Mil-
ton Rosen, was for a change in mileage plans for the following em-
ployees:

These changes were requested because of increased activities and ac-
celerated travel in the summer months to make the proper inspections.
The Committee recommends these requests to the Council for favorable
action.
A request signed by Commissioner Frank L. Loss of the Department of
Parks And Recreation And Public Buildings was received, for the
placement of Lawrence J. Unger, Craft Instructor, on C mileage al-
lowance with z maximum of $75.00 for the months of June, July, and
August, 1961, as Mr. Unger provides transportation for day camping
activities for the Wilder Day Camp Recreation Division. The Commit-
tee moved that this request be recommended to the Council for favora-
ble action.
The Saint Paul Public Schools, through John M. Gran,
intendent, requested that Gordon Miniclier, Director
placed on Plan C mileage with $15.00 maximum a month
1961, and this request was recommended for favorable

Mr. Grants letter also included a request for the removal of
Eugene Byrne from C mileage, effective May 1, 1961, as Mr. Byrne
is no longer, with the School Department. This request was recom-
mended to the Council for favorable action also.
Mr. Herbert C. Wieland, Director of City Planning, requested re-
moval of Kenneth Betz and Donald Cosgrove, Junior City Planners,
from B mileage plans, effective May 1, 1961. The Committee
recommends favorable action on this request.
