VHMUM. The Commissioner of Public Safety has reported, in
accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence
of an emergency during the period from May 1, 1961 to May 31,
1961, which rendered necessary the employment of certain em-
ployees in the Departrent of Public Safety for yore than eight
hams per day, or forty, hours per week, in doing the following
works
Clerical work in the Bureau of Police
MEE=, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts
and circumstanceat Lack of personnel to type reports and keep
current records up to date.

hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work
