Construct sidewalks on both sides of St. Peter Street from 9th Streef to " %th Street,

cilities of every- description, and provided that all permits heretofore granted by
said City of St. Paul for the installation and/or maintenance of'sucKa- reaways, coal
holes, trap doors, tunnels and 'other underground faci 1'i ti,.e.s ,of.,every .descr..i pti on, ..w,i l 1
be, and the same are hereby revoked unless said, areaways, coal holes, trap doors,-tun-
nels and other underground facilities of every description are reconstructed by said,
permittee on or.before-a date whichi is one year, after the date of final app:r;oval of
this order,'•and-that, further, the Department of Public Works, through.its Chief Engi-
neer, is hereby authorized and directed to fill in- and - remove such areaways,, c.oa,l holes,
trap doors, tunnels and other underground facilities of every description, the'permit-
tees of'which areaways, coal holes, trap, doors, tunnels_ and other underground facili-
ties of every description.fail to reconstruct the'same to th6 satisfaction of the City
Engineer - on or before the above mentioned date.; y "

therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Commissioner of Public Works be and is hereby ordered and directed:
1. To investigate the necessity for, or desirability of, the making of said improvement.
2. To investigate the nature, extent and estimated cost of said improvement, and the total cost thereof.
3. To furnish a plan, profile or sketch of said improvement.
4. To state whether or not said improvement is asked for on the petition of three or more owners.
5. To report upon all of the foregoing matters to the Commissioner of Finance.
