To whom it may concern:
Herewith is some data relative to the Mosquito miniature
trap - shooting outfit. '
It consists of a 22 caliber rifle designed to shoot the shot
cartridge - which is in fact a minute shotgun shell - only
one inch in length and 22/100 of an inch in diameter. Inside
this small case are 110 small pellets, smaller than a pin-
head in size, The powder c ge will only propel them about
ninety feet or less, because extreme lightness, the
momentum is dissipated raps ,
Every year there is a gallery at the State Fair which uses
this outfit for shooting the miniature clay birds. The only
protection used at the State Fair is a piece of canvas be-
hind (this is about 75 feet from the shooter.) This gallery
is sandwiched in between two others on the street from East
to West leading to the Grand Stand entrances.
We might 'add that many of these are sold for use at Church
Bazaars etc., held right on the Church grounds and I have
never heard of an accident happening to any one among the
hundreds and hundreds that have been sold,
The miniature targets they shoot at are of thin plaster that
is more fragile than an eggshell and has to be hit within
the first 50 feet of flight from the trap to break it.
