SCHROEDER, City Architect 445 City Hall, Zone 2 CApital 4 -4612 Ext. 361 August 8, 1961 Hon, Council City of Saint Paul Dear Council Members: You referred to this office for investigation and report the request of Briggs & Morgan in behalf of K & NfMachine Works, 871 Edgerton Street, who - desire a permit to erect a six foot high fence on the property lines surrounding their industrial plant at this address. Our inspector reports that the fence will be of chain link con- struction and will be erected in order to protect their facili- ties and equipment and to discourage trespassing. The fence will not constitute any traffic hazard nor detract from the area. It is our recommendation that the Building Department be author- ized to issue a permit for its erection. Pursuant to the provisions of Sec. 33.04 of the St. Paul City Ordinances, Section VI, K & N Machine Works hereby requests a permit to erect a fence six feet high on the property lines surrounding their industrial plant at 871 Edgerton Street, St. Paul, Minnesota. The fence will be of chain link construction, and will be erected by Montgomery Ward of St. Paul, Minnesota. There will be no barbed wire on this fence. It is proposed to place this fence on the existing property line in so far as is practical. r _ K & N Machine Works desires to protect its present r facilities and equipment from trespassers, and at the same time protect those unsuspecting individuals who may inad- vertently trespass, and children, from injury on its premises. Your attention to this matter at the earliest possible opportunity is requested.
