PAUL COUNCIL NO 111111 OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK COU CIL RESOLUTION — GENERAL FORM PRESENTED 13 � COMMISSIONE F DATE WHEREAS, The Commissioner. of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings has reported, .in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from January 16 to 31, 1961, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the 'Department of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings for more than. eight hours per day or fcrty hours per week in doing the following works Supervision, operation, maintenance, care and protection of public parks and play- grounds and of t4eir facilities. And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: Seasonal requirements for protection of ub13c ro ert and ursuit of de "+— P P P y P Pa mental activities, such as= Civic events and municipal sports and playground pro- grams, particularly the Winter Carnival required increased tune and effort of an unforeseen but temporary nature; heating plant for the Conservatory and Zoo must be tended around the clock ;more employees than usual on illness - leave; slippery boulevards and parkways required immediate sanding; and breakdown of equipment re- quired immediate repair. Mortinson. by request— , Resolved, That the prover city officers are hereby authorized to pay certain employes in the Department of Parks, Recreation and Public Buildings for extra employment as described in the resolution.
