Y EREAS, the Commissioner of Publio Safety has reported, in accordance with Section 53
of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from January 1, 1961
to January 31, 1961, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees in the
Department of Public Safety for more than eight hours per day, or forty hours per Reek,
in doing the following Rork:
Clerical work in the Bureau of Police, clerical work in the Bureau of General
Administration (Office) and maintenance work in the Bureau of Building Maintenance and
TMREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances:
Lack of personnel to type reports and beep current records up to date, and
alterations and repairs in the Public Safety Building,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay
the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions'of the Council's
Salary Ordinance No. 6446.
