RESOLVED, That the Council hereby approves the award of the Purchasing
Committee therefor, and hereby awards contract for furnishing and delivering
Cast Iron Water PFipe Pressure Fittings, 16" and over, to the Water Department,
$aniline and Carroll Avenues, St. Paul, Minnesota, to AFRICAN CAST IRON PIPE
COMPANY in accordance with City specifications therefor hereto attached and
the Formal Bid #8229 of said American Cast Iron Pipe Company for the contract
price of $9,530.40 (Board of Water Commissioners reserving the right to in-
crease any individual item of the materials of the contract by an amount not
to exceed 25% of the quantity indicated for that item),, such bid being the
lowest and said American Cast Iron Pipe Company being a reasonable and
reliable bidder and the Corporation Counsel be and hereby is directed to draw
up the proper form of contract therefor, and the pioper City officials hereby
are authorized to execute said contract on behalf of-the-City of Saint Paul,
