08-1155CouncilFile# Q�'�l,j,� GreenSheet# 3060216 2 � � 4 � 6 7 8 4 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 ia 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 �, �� 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 RESOLUTtON OF PAUL, MINNESOTA Presented by �✓� WHEREAS, the Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District (RWMWD) Best Management Practices (BMP) Cost Share Program offers financial assistance to efforts that protect and improve water and natural resources, and; WF�REAS, the Minnesota Deparhnent of Natural Resources (DNR) has previously awarded the City $27,000 to remove approximately nine acres of diseased and exotic tree removal in Indian Mounds Regional Park, and; WI�REAS, $12,OQ0 of these DNR funds can be used as matching funds for the RWMWD BMP Cost Shaze Program to help restore 6.5 acres of overgown oak savanna and oak woodland, and; WHEREAS, the Division of Parks and Recreation requests permission to apply for and accept grant funding from the RWMWD to purchase erosion control materials and plant material for this purpose; and WFIEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.071 of the Charter of the Gity of Saint Paul, does certify Yhat there are available for appropriation funds totaling $13,850 in excess of those estimated in the 2008 budget; and WHEREAS, the Divisian of Parks and Reereation has a natural resowces inventory and management plan to guide restoration efforts at Indian Mounds Regional Park, now, therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Mayor and flie proper ciry officlals are hereby authorized to execute such agreements as may be necessary to accept this grant on behalf of the Clty; and be it further RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul approves ttiese changes to the 2008 budget. The grant funding is appropriated on a reimbursement basis.
