\ti'HER£AS, Rev. Syron C. '�loore was appointed Senior Pastor of Saint James AME Church; and
R'HERG,�S, Rev. Moore along with his wife, Rev. Sharon Moore, and daughters Candace and Chfoe have dutifully served ihe Saint
Paul commun(tv; and
\GNFRE.AS, Reverends �b7oore established the church motto: "Where Nobody is Better Than Anybody, but Everybody is SomebodyP';
and
WHF,REAS, under Rev. vloore's leadership, St. James AME has increased its membership substantially, specifically among children
and young adults; given over $20,000 benevolently to the Saint Paul communiry; purchased and provided brand new winter coats, hats,
gloves and scarves for 120junior high school students in Samt Paul Pubiic Schools; served over 100 families through food shelf;
provided free school supphes to over 500 K-12 students; hosted several critical community events and meetings, including: home-
ownership fairs, communiTy� health fairs, Central Corridor community meetings; and
WHEItEAS in addition to his years of leadership within the church, Rev. Moore has served the Saint Paul community as a Member of
the St. Paul Interdenominational Ministerial Aliiance; board member of the St, Paul Area Councit of Churches; Central Corridor
Uevelopment Task Force member; Chosen to Achieve Menror; Direcror of Evangelism and Dean of the Board of Examiners for the St.
Paul� iViinneapolis district of the AME chumhes, Saint Paul African American Leadership Council member; and
W'HF,RF.AS, Rev Moore was recognized in Heritage Registry of Who's Wh� for 2005-2006; and has [wice been featured in the Faith
and Vaiues section oFthe Siar Tribr+ne; and
WHF,REAS, the Moore family wili Veave Saint Paul to assumetheir new assignment at HistoricEbenezer A.M.�. Church in Detroit,
Michigan, and
WNEREAS, a Celebration in thair honor is planned for Saturday, October 18, 2008 at St.lames AME; now
THGREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul CiCy Council acknowledges and thanks Rev. Byron C. Moore and Rev. Sharon
D Moore for their exemplary service to the 5t. James AME Church as well as the greater Saint Paui communiry; and be it
ilNA1,LY RESOLVED, that the Samt Paul City Council proclaims Rev. Byron C. Moore and his family as honorary good will
ambassadors for the City of Saint Paul and proclaims Saturday, October 1&, 2008 to be forevermore known in the City of Saint Paul as
