AREAS, the Commissioner of Public Safety has reported, in accordance with Section 53
of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from February 1, 1961
to February 28, 1961, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees in the
Department of Public Safety for more than eight hours per day, or forty hours per week,
in doing the following works
Maintenance work in ,the Bureau of Building Maintenance and
WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances:
Break down of snow plow and snow had to be removed by hand on February 18 and 19
and closing and opening the Health Building on the week ends.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay
the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's
Salary Ordinance No. 6446.
