Council City of Saint Paul Dear Council Members: The Car Mileage Committee held a meeting on Tuesday afternoon, February 21, 1961 and disposed of the following matters in accordance with Ordinance No. 11532. The request of'Comniissioner Robert F. Peterson, Department of Public Safety, for the transfer of Donald Kell, Fire Inspec- tor, from Plan B to Plan A was given consideration by the Committee and it is recommended that the Council grant this request, to become effective February 1, 1961. A request signed by John J. Eichinger of Department of Public Works for the removal of Deane M. Wenger, Senior Traffic Engineer in the Department of Public Works, from Plan C maximum $55.00, effective February 1, 1961 was favorably con- sidered and it is recommended. The Committee passed on the.request of Commissioner Frank L. Loss, Department of Parks And Recreation And Public Buildings for an increase in mileage, effective February 1, 1961 for Benjamin M. Storey, Engineer and Alfred H. Schroeder, City Architect, from $60:00 to $75.00 maximum per month, as these people are driving more miles than originally contemplated. The Committee considered a request signed by Herbert C. Wie- land, Director of City Planning, for the placing on B Mileage Plan, $75.00 maximum, effective February 1, 1961 of Kenneth Betz, Junior City Planner and Donald Cosgrove, Junior City Planner, as these men have been assigned to the task of updat- ing the Land Use Inventory, which will require a substantial amount of field checking. This is recommended for favorable action by the Council. A letter from Comptroller Joseph J. Mitchell was favorably act- ed upon and the Committee recommends the Council authorize ##2 - Hon. Council placement of Joseph J. Mitchell, Comptroller, and Joseph P. LaNasa, Deputy Comptroller, on Plan C, $75.00 maximum, effec- tive February 1, 1961. Yours truly, Alfr H. Schroeder, CH.
