CI TV Vavoulis, mayor— Resolved, That the proper city offi- cers are hereby authorized jo pay OFFICE OF certain employes in the Department COUNCIL RESOL City Planning for extra employment as as described in the resolution. COMMISSIONER (February 25, 1961) n COUNCIL � FILE NO WHEREAS, The Mayor (Department of City Planning) has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter,, the existence of an emergency during the period from February 16, 1961 to February 28, 1961 which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of City Planning for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: (1) Making additions and corrections on the official Zoning Maps. (2) Processing a number of rezoning applications which involved checking very complicated legal descriptions. And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circum- stances: It was not possible to correct the zoning maps within the normal working hours be- cause of a temporary excessive workload within the zoning section and it was not possible to divert personnel from other work assignments to assist in this work. The rezoning applications had to be processed to meet the time deadlines prescribed in the Zoning Code. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
