' �`"- Q OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK COUNCI ESOLUTION— GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY COMMISSIONER DATE WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Works has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from February 1 to February 15, 196t which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Public Works for more than eight hours per day or fo week in doing the following work: Emergency street, building, sewer &•bridge repair Dispatching men for emergency repair work Dispatching motor vehicles for all emergency work Operating equipment on emergency repair work Emergency calls for sewer maintenance er Council File No. 200832 — By Milton Rosen — Resolved, That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay certain employes in the Department of Public Works for extra employment as de- scribed in the resolution. Adopted by the Council February 15, 1961. Approved February 15, 1961. (February 18, 1961) Removing snow and debris from city streets & sanding icy streets Tending fire at Asphalt Plant on Sundays & holidays Taking care of complaints at city-.yards Drawing plans & Specifications for grading & paving jobs Mimeographing grade profiles & revising house numbers Servicing municipal equipment Making up sidewalk assessments Inspecting city improvement jobs And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: Necessity of answering allemergency repair calls, keeping fires at Asphalt Plant continuously, keeping city streets free from snow, ice, & debris, taking complaints at City Yards, completing plans & specifications for grading & paving jobs, need for grade profiles and house numbers, completing sidewalk assessments, keeping city equipment in good running condition, and inspecting work done by contractors on street & sidewalk work.
