PAUL OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK CO,WNCIk)RESOLUTION— GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY COMMISSIONER COUNCIL NO. 2 Q-0 477 FILE WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from January 1 to 15, 1961, which rendered necessary the etmployw ment of certain employees of the Department of Parks and Recreation and,Public Buildings for more than eight hours per 4j- or forty hours per week in doing the following work= Supervision, operation, 'maintenance., care and protection of public parks and play- grounds and of their facilities. And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the - following facts and circumstances= Seasonal requirements for protection of public property and pursuit of depart- mental activities, such as: Civic events and municipal sports and playground pro- grams required increased time and effort of an unforeseen but temporary nature; heating plant for the Conservatory and Zoo must be tended around the olock; many employees on illness - leave; and breakdown of equipment required immediate repair. Loss — Resolved, That the proper city offi- cers are hereby authorized to pay certain employes in the Department of Parks & Recreation & Public Build- ings for extra employment as described in the resolution.
