WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Works has reported, in accordance with
Section 53 of'the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during
the period from March 21 to March 27, 1962 which rendered
necessary the employment of certain.employees of the Department of
Public Works for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per
week in doing the following work:
Removing snow1from city streets and sanding icy streets.
And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
Necessity of answering all emergency repair calls, keeping city
streets free from snow and ice.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby
authorized to;pay the employees who performed such work in
accordance with the provisions ofthe Council's salary ordinance,
Ordinance No ,1 6446 .
