WHEREAS, the Colmnissioner of public Safety has reported, in accordance with Section 53
of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from March 1, 1962
to March 31, 1962, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees in the
Department of Public Safety for more than eight hours per day, or forty hours per week,
in doing the fol Ing work=
Maintenance work in the Bureau of Building Mintenance and
WHEREAS, this emergenoy arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances s
Plowing and shoveling snow and main'taizting a crew because of sickness.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVEDs That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the
employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's
Salary Ordinance No 1 6446.
