PAUL COUNCIL NO OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK O CIL RESOLUTION - GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY COMMISSIONE DATE WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from March 1 to 15, 1962, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: Supervision, operation, maintenance, care and pro., tection of public parks and playgrounds and of their facilities. And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: Seasonal requirements for protection of public property and pursuit of departmental activities, such as: Civic events and municipal sports and playground programs required increased time and effort of an unforeseen but temporary nature; breakdown of equipment necessitated immediate repairs; during the heating season, the plant for the Zoo and Greenhouse must be tended constantly; and heavy snow and ice demanded extensive plowing aid sanding of boulevards and parkways* THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who per- formed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Couneilrs salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 64469 COUNCILMEN Yeas Nays DeCourcy Holland Loss Mortinson Peterson Rosen Mr. President, Vavoulis EM 5.eo oqD.2 Council File No. 206451 —By Frank L.'; Loss — Resolved, That the proper city offi- cers are hereby authorized to pay certain employes in the Department of Parks & Recreation & Public Build- ings for extra employment as described in the resolution.
