WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported,
in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of
an emergency during the period from March 1st to March 15th 1962
inclusive, which rendered necessary the employment of certain
employees of the Water Department for more than eight hours per day
or forty hours per week-in doing the following work:
1 Working extra shifts, various stations.
2 Changing water meter at.300 E. 4th St:
3 Repairing water mains.
4 Driving country,crew to and from work.
5 Making repairs to Dale Street reservoir.
AND WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following
facts and circumstances:
2 N Necessary'
on account of absence of employees on regular shifts.
Necessary to make repairs after business hours.
�3 Main breaks on Sundays, and during night.
4 On account of scattered work locations. 44
(5 Necessary to finish certain part of work on account of
weather conditions.
THEREF'ORE.t BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers
are hereby authorized to pay'the employees who performed such work
in accordance with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance,
Ordinance No. 6446.
