DeCourcy, by request— Resolved, That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay certain employes in the City Clerks Office, Election Bureau, for extra employment as described in the resolution. Adopted by the Council March 13, 1962. a Approved March 13, 1962. (March 17, 1962) WHEREAS, The City Clerk has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from March 1 to March 15th which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the City Clerk's Office for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: Preparing the voting machines before the election and placing and raising them after the election. Giving supplies to the judges after instruction meetings and accepting supplies and returns from the judges when the ,polls closed. The office was open at 6:00 A. M. Election day. And WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: Preparing for the City Primary Election of Tuesday, March 13th, 1962. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
