WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Safety has reported, in accordance
with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency dur-
ing the period from February 1, 1962 to February 28, 1962, which ren-
dered necessary the employment of certain employees in the Department
of Public Safety for more than eight hours per day, or'forty hours per
week, in doing the following work:
Clerical work in the Bureau of Police
WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and cir-
cumstances:
Lack of personnel to type reports and keep current rec-
ords up to date,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the proper city officers are hereby au-
thorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance
with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance No. 6446.
