Resolved, That the propper city officers
are hereby authorized to pay certain
employes m the Department of Public
Safety, Bureau of Police, for extra em=
ployment as described in the resolu-
tion.

WHERMS The Commissioner of Public Safety has reported, in
accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence
of an emergency during the period from April 1, 1962 to April
30, 1962, which rendered necessary the employment of certain
employees in the Department of Public Safety for more than
eight hours per day, or forty hours per week, in doing the
following works
Clerical work in the Bureau of Police
MHMM43, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts
and circumstances:
Lack of personnel to type reports and keep cur-
rent records up to date.
TFII3UME BE IT RESOLVED: That the proper city officers are
hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work
in accordance with the provisions of the Councilts Salary Or-
dinance No. 6446.
