WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Publio Safety has reported, in accordance with Section 53
of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from April 1, 1962
to April 30, 1962, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees in the
Department of Public Safety for more than eight hours per day, or forty hours per week,
in doing the f ollowing work:
Clerical work in the Bureau of General Administration (Office) and
'PMREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances:
Lack of personnel to type reports and keep records up to date.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the proper,city officers are hereby authorized to pay
the employees who performed such work in accordance with the prosrisions of the Council's
Salary Ordinance No, 6446.
